I'll miss you, Claris. Every paper I did in high school... man, just think of it.
My ClarisWorks story? Ok, in high school, a friend of mine introduced me to ResEdit. I hacked a copy of CW 2.0, changed the pink splash in the icons to blue, and renamed the app ClarisWorks 3.0 (also changed the version numbers inside the program, so whenever anyone went to open a Works doc, it would pull my version). I installed it on every computer in the English room. And the piece of resistance? When mucking about in the menu items, I shifted every item in the File menu down by one; up to and including shifting "Quit" off the bottom. The only way out was to Force-Quit (ctrl-openapple-esc, I think?) which does not provide you an option to save your data (you can still save it, provided you could figure out that Save As... was Save... and so on). Man, were my classmates first impressed (ooh, software upgrade) then pissed (my paper! I can't save my paper!). No one beat the crap out of me, though, even when they found out who did it. Maybe they were secretly impressed.
