I am 17 pages into Absalom, Absalom! and I think I'm only on the sixth paragraph; the ninth sentence total. Talk about dense. I think it would be fair to apply my buddy Ashwani's description of Billy Bard's (Shakespeare's) barbarism of the language: "If the goal of language is to clearly communicate concepts, then [Faulkner] must be the greatest butcher of English ever."
