Two songs about Hemmingway

I just feel like posting these. I hope you can appreciate them. I hope you can listen to the first one and it makes you cry. It's beauty.

The dancer slows her frantic pace
in pain and desperation,
Her aching limbs and downcast face
aglow with perspiration.

Stiff as wire, her lungs on fire
with just the briefest pause—
Then flooding through her memory,
the echoes of old applause.

And she limps across the floor
and closes her bedroom door...

The writer stares with glassy eyes—
defies the empty page
His beard is white, his face is lined
and streaked with tears of rage.

Thirty years ago, how the words would flow
with passion and precision.
Now his mind is dark and dulled
by sickness and indecision.

And he stares out the kitchen door
where the sun will rise no more...

Some are born to move the world—
to live their fantasies
But most of us just dream about
the things we'd like to be

Sadder still to watch it die
than never to have known it
For you the blind who once could see,
the bell tolls for thee...

The bell tolls for thee.

In another time, when everything was fine
I often found I created situations
Now I know, wherever I go
I can rest my mind on deep concentration

Just like Hemmingway
he showed me anyway
You can be a hero
all you have to know is what to say

And if I want to die just like Hemmingway
I'll put a pistol in my mouth and blow my head away

In another time, when everything was fine
I often looked to you for inspiration
Now I know, wherever I go
I set my life on Great Expectations

And just like Hemmingway
he showed me anyway
You can be a hero
all you have to know is what to say

And if I want to die, just like Hemmingway,
I'll put a pistol in my mouth and blow my head away

Fuck... why do I want talent? So I can lose it? No... but will I be able to deal with it when it goes? If I ever find it... (or it finds me, rather).

Hey, man, nice shot.
