Switchblade Dance

I dance in shades of switchblade death
The glimmering shine of lifeless breath
Trancendant life surges forth anew
Rage like rain amidst morning dew

Candlelit clandestine hidden from fright
Destiny's chosen unfrozen tonight
We escape; footfalls on the razor's edge
Cloying through night split by our wedge

Tearing dreaming down windowlit streets
Sucking in air like the candiedest sweets
Tasting our destiny ever-present lights
Facing the nameless future each night

Descending through madness like love unrepenting
The dancing of shimmering blade-glare unrelenting
Wondering what wonders so ponderous reflecting
Memories iridescent visions our dreams are dissecting

Analyzing, revising and sizing up hope
Flying, floating dangling by rope
Swing and we sway
All night and all day
Never to decay like unloved isotopes

The night exhales slowly and I breathe it in
Terrors withholding at my fingertips sin
Clutching and dragging along with delight
Sheltered unsplintered from the shrieking night

A taste so unchaste must never be faced
But your face I could never replace with such grace
